Disney Parks, Experiences and Products brings the magic of Disney stories and franchises to life through theme parks, resorts, cruise ships, unique vacation experiences, consumer products and more around the world. Whilst you might be familiar with their soft toys and lunchboxes, most won't realise that they also engage with high-end partners to produce exclusive fashion lines. DPEP wanted to produce an event to celebrate the high-end range of Aladdin products to their partners, celebrities, and the media to coincide with the launch of the live-action film.
The event was held at the exclusive Célon Lounge under the Bryant Park Hotel in New York City. This beautiful space evoked the middle-eastern nature of the film, but presented a number of challenges - such as no rigging points for lighting. We used special battery powered, remote control units that attached magnetically to fixtures in the ceiling to highlight product displays placed around the space. We worked closely with the team from Urban Holiday (who produced the amazing scenic elements) to light the products in interesting and engaging ways. We also lit the entry way to set the mood, and then also created themed areas around the space. A custom cocktail menu was offered to guests, along with specially designed food from the venue. A market stall transported guests to Agrabah to offer roses, and a social media photo activation allowed guests to share the experience on-line.
